Head of Operations
The Head of Operations will be responsible for the oversight, integration and optimisation of the Firm’s Operations. The incumbent will work closely with the Executive Team to implement the firm’s business strategy. The Head of Operations will also work closely with the Heads of the Operations departments to execute and implement the business strategy and to ensure synergy, cohesion and collaboration across the Operations departments.
Key Responsibilities

Strategy Implementation Support
- Responsible for cascading the Firm’s strategy to the Operations departments.
- Collaborate with the Heads of the Operations departments on the development and implementation of departmental strategies in alignment with the Firm’s business strategy.
- Responsible for the bi-directional flow of information between the Executive Committee and the Operations departments, and between the different Operations departments.

Process optimization and synergy
- Play a leading role in the Firm’s digital transformation initiatives.
- Continuously work with the Heads of the Operations departments to enhance and optimise workflows and processes in the Operations departments and the business in general.
- Evaluate existing policies, processes and procedures to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support the Heads of the Operations departments in the implementation of revised policies, processes and procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring collaboration, synergy and cohesion across the Operations departments.
- Evaluate overall performance of the business through analysing and interpreting data, metrics and trends.
- Implementing relevant measures to enhance business performance.

Budget Management
- Work closely with the Head of Finance and the Operations departments in developing and maintaining Operations department budgets.
- Identify and action cost saving measures.

People Leadership
- Act as integrator between the different Operations departments, as well as between the Operations departments and the rest of the business.
- Work with Heads of the Operations departments to formulate KPIs and measuring performance against these.
- Drive talent management, development and succession planning for the Operations departments.

Governance, Compliance and Risk Management
- Responsible for the Governance, Compliance and Risk Management department.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of a risk mitigation plan for the business.
- Oversee the compliance of the business with statutory laws and regulations.
- Evaluate and enhance the firm’s procurement policies and processes, including overseeing service level agreements with clients and suppliers.

BBBEE and Employment Equity
- Custodian of the BBBEE strategy and implementation plan for the firm.
- Ensure that the firm’s Transformation objectives are understood and supported by the various Operations departments.
- Work closely with the various Operations departments and the Executive Leadership team in the development and implementation of the firm’s BBBEE strategy.
- Take on the role of EE Manager and EE Committee Chairperson.
Qualifications & Experience
- An Engineering, Business, Law or other relevant degree.
- A Postgraduate degree / MBL / MBA qualification will be advantageous.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a leadership position, ideally within a professional services firm.
- Proven experience in process optimisation and technology implementation will be advantageous.
