After receiving the accolade of South African Intellectual Property Law firm of the year for the past three years, Spoor & Fisher has now been awarded “Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year in Africa” by Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) for 2018.
This award recognises top performers in global intellectual property (IP) who have made outstanding contributions to IP work covering patents, trade marks and copyrights across the African continent during 2017. Tshepo Shabangu, partner and chairperson of Spoor & Fisher says: “We are extremely proud to have won the African Firm of the Year Award. It continues to strengthen our position as the continent’s front-runner in IP legal practice.”
Winners of the MIP awards are selected following research into the IP market, as well as obtaining independent views from clients and peers. The awards take into account all activity over the past year, including successful cases, notable client wins and innovative approaches to the law.
“We appreciate the recognition of our Africa-wide expertise, in particular acknowledging our successes in anti-counterfeiting across East Africa and our region-wide customs training programme. We are especially grateful to our clients for their continued support,” comments Wayne Meiring, Managing Director of Spoor & Fisher Jersey.
